Equal Pay Equal Jobs

American suffragists lobbied, marchied, lectured, and fought for decades to gain the basic civil right to vote. Though the Nineteenth Amendment was introduced by Senator Aaron A. Sargent in 1878, it took until World War I for Congress sto submit it for ratification. The amendment was finally ratified on August 18, 1920.
